Prayer & Fasting: Day 14

January 17, 2010 · Leave a Comment

I’m at TFH listening to the worship team playing You Hold Me Now, and I’m think about what Pastor Roger at Stepping Stone said that inspired me to think about worship and worship teams in a new light. Pastor Roger said how the Stepping Stone worship team was specially picked and trained not to play instruments, but to lead worship and inspire a whole commitment during worship. They were chosen to inspire us into true worship and not to let our minds wander during it. They were there to banish all our reservations about clapping during a song or raisin our hands up in praise. He said worship is loving God, our savior, and not just about singing songs that sound fun or sound good. Worship is realizing that He is ever forgiving and mercifull and that we are nothing compared to Him. At the end of the, we have every need to thank Him for everything we have because he has given it to us. :) But I also think that an important feature of the worship team is their ability to be real people as well has leaders. They connect to the members of the burch and interact with us an examples, yes, but also as our friends. It’s great being able to laugh at their antics during practice. These people aren’t untouchable, they also become our aquitances and friends. These are my thoughts at 8:45am in the morning. Lol.

Prayer & Fasting: Day 8

January 11, 2010 · Leave a Comment

It’s not so bad. That’s all I have to say. At first fasting facebook was a huge pain, then it got better and I think I might even cure myself of my addiction. Lol. Good things that these three weeks have made me read my bible more consistently. I’ve been discovering at lot of things and reeling a lot of personal advice from the passages. Hmmm… A sign? :)

Plus, getting rid of facebook has allowed me to rediscover music. It’s great! I’ve gleemed a lot of songs. Asian songs, but still songs. Also, I’ve been working on my dancing a lot more. :) -cheers-

Fasting & Prayer: Day 1

January 4, 2010 · Leave a Comment

So I’ve sworn off all sweets for 21 days. No problem (somewhat), but I still have to remind myself that I can’t have it. My biggest problem isn’t abstaining, it’s the fact that sometimes I don’t remember I can’t have them. I count it a great plus that I’m not craving it. Phew! Even if I have a bag of Lindt chocolate tuffles near the bed, I’m not jumping to open the bag and pop one in my mouth. I’ve also decided to establish a no eatting after 9PM rule. It’s good for my health anyways and I need to get myself back in the habit of not eatting before bed. All those calories will just sit there and make me fat. Yay to health!

Surprisingly the hardest thing to give up is facebook. That’s not surprising. I’m pretty much addicted to that thing. I’ve been itching to go on the site for awhile now and this morning as I cracked open my laptop I almost typed facebook.com into the URL box. When I realize that I can’t go on facebook I try to go to myspace only to realize that I’ve banned myself from that too. Next? Twitter, but nope, I’ve restrictd myself from that too! What else have I banned myself from? No useless American TV dramas. Oh well. Great thing about it all is that I’ve time to focus on my blog again. Yay! Funniest thought yet? “But where will I post my status update when I’m finally back in Baltimore on the 22nd?!?!” Haha! Yeah. This proves it. =] I’m addicted.

It’s “Personal”

September 15, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Is it okay to have personal secrets? I think so. There’s no need to share everything about yourself to the outside word. Religiously I guess you can say that there should be some things that are kept strictly between a Christian and God. Personally, I think there are secrets that should be kept to oneself too. I’m not saying that if you’re feeling suicidal you shouldn’t go out and get some help… rather I’m talking about something personal and close that you don’t necessarily have to shout to the world. Sometimes we can do nothing BUT shout to the world because it is so emotional and it all just explodes out.

Some people act so offended if they don’t know every bit of detail from someone else’s life. I guess I’m partially guilty of being one of those people. I’m so extroverted that sometimes I invade others’ space without even meaning to. Even though I am an introvert, there are some things I don’t necessarily want to share with everyone. Either because it is precious to me or it’s something I find extremely personal. Can secrets damage a relationship? Yes, they can. My only hope is that whoever I have relationships with they will understand that there are just some things that I have to keep between me and myself. Just some. ;)
